This poster presentation focuses on two goals: Reviewing multiple classroom resources for standards-based integrated Life, Earth, and Physical Science activities and introducing a new opportunity for West Virginia students and teachers to participate in the first West Virginia Science Symposium competition. A variety of resources for data-driven science inquiry activities will be introduced. The poster presentation provides teachers with links to sets of complete lesson plans and activities that address Earth Science, Life Science, and Physical Science standards. Teachers can meet science standards in multiple disciplines with each lesson. Activities are easily modified to allow flexibility for grade level and student ability levels.

The poster presentation also introduces the first-ever West Virginia Science Symposium to be held at the NASA’s IV & V education resource facility in Fairmont, WV on April 13, 2018. Students who complete research projects will be invited to submit poster presentations summarizing their research questions, methods, data, and findings. Symposium details will also be reviewed so that teachers are well-prepared to implement the activities that could lead to student participation in the symposium.
